On the Viewer - Battlestar Galactica (Season 4.5, Episode 2 - "A Disquiet Follows My Soul")
 by Fëanor

My usual "live-blog" for this great, great episode:

I love the quiet, intimate glimpse at Adama's morning routine. The bit of poetry is nice, too.

Wow, I'd totally forgotten about Tigh and the Six's baby! I love how Tigh reacts to seeing the kid on the ultrasound by saying, "I need a drink," and Cottle gives him a cigarette, saying it's the next best thing.

Adama to Zarek: "Thank you, Mr. Zarek. That makes it a little bit easier to know who to blame should there be an unfortunate incident." Nice. I like that everything has lasting consequences on this show. It's not like everybody's just going to be magically okay with having an alliance with the Cylons now. In fact, almost no one is okay with it. Zarek and Gaeta seem particularly not okay with it. And I wonder what that nurse was thinking as she was staring at Six and Tigh while Six was talking about her baby being the future of the Cylon race. Somebody is definitely going to try to take that baby out.

There's a pretty funny moment where the Chief is still trying to work out just who he is and who he's with. "Their technology - our technology is way ahead of ours - I mean, yours."

Woah! The Chief's baby is not actually the Chief's baby! That's a bit of a shocker. Or maybe I already knew that but I forgot?

I thought Roslin was going to commit suicide for a second there. But I guess she kind of is, just in a more long-term sense.

Gaeta's definitely fomenting rebellion. That conversation between him and Starbuck was pretty intense.

Zarek just made a big move with the vote to restrict Cylons boarding ships. He's essentially arguing the states' rights over the nation's. He's definitely gaining power and influence now. I see him taking over.

Wow. Scene between Roslin and Adama in the hall, as she was trying to run, was a very powerful scene for Roslin. Some great dialogue.

And how about Baltar's little religious ceremony? He gets everybody so riled up that when the Chief starts a fight, they all just egg him on.

Mutiny! And they're asking Zarek what to do. Oh man, this is bad news. And now Adama has ordered him arrested and authorized the use of deadly force if he resists. Holy crap. This got out of control pretty damn fast!

Chief's description of being a father: "It sucks. Except for the parts that don't." Nice.

I love that Adama recommends Zarek not eat the prison food. He totally played him.

Zarek and Gaeta, forming the revolution. Hoo boy.

Aah! Bald Roslin and Adama in bed together! That was inevitable, and it's sweet to see them finally embracing each other, and taking time off from all the tension and horror. But man, that's a disturbing image!

Great episode. You can feel everything falling apart. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: every time it looks like everything's gone wrong and it just can't get any worse... it gets worse. Thanks, Battlestar!
