| Thanksgiving Postscript |

I failed to mention something rather important about this weekend. Poppy made Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings for the two of us, my parents, and her dad. She did an excellent job and everything was very tasty. My contribution was picking up the turkey from Och's in Reading Terminal Market and walking it three city blocks back to the car. And let me tell you, that turkey was heavy! I had my revenge on it, though... |

I almost forgot to mention the Thanksgiving miracle that occurred yesterday, namely, the Eagles somehow totally destroyed the Cardinals. The Eagles really looked like an entirely different team than the one we've been watching for the past couple of weeks. The Cardinals were playing like the old Eagles, throwing interceptions and just generally falling all over themselves on offense. Me, poppy, and our Dads were all struck by it, and we were coming up with various sci-fi explanations for it (alien brain parasites? Transporter malfunction?). But at least as far as Donovan goes, the explanation is probably a bit simpler: he just got really fired up after being benched in the last game, and went out there determined to prove himself. And he did so! Very impressive and exciting. Now they just have to win all the rest of their games and get lucky, and they could actually make the playoffs! |

I went over to the Wegmans by us around 2:30 today to pick up a last minute item for Thanksgiving. As I was heading in, I noticed a small group of people (maybe a half dozen?) camped out in front of the Best Buy next door. And when I say camped out, I mean camped out. They were wearing parkas and sitting on chairs outside tents.
I can understand wanting to be the first in line to get the cool new gadget - I tried to do it myself for the Wii, and failed miserably - but 2:30 in the afternoon the day before? Are you crazy?? What are you going to do all those hours sitting in front of the Best Buy? Good lord. |

Hulk still working on petition to change name of Thanksgiving to Hulksgiving, or Smashgiving (Hulk can't decide; that why petition taking so long to put together). But until name change official, Hulk wish all puny humans a happy Thanksgiving.
Hulk go eat a couple turkeys now. |

No new comics yesterday!! Apparently they pushed them back because of Thanksgiving? But Thanksgiving was last week!! Gaaaah!
I almost turned into the Hulk and broke the world right there. But I held back. You should all thank me. |

| Personal Update |

I had quite a nice holiday weekend. I had mostly gotten over my cold by the time Thanksgiving came around (I am completely over it now) and we had a nice, traditional holiday celebration at the folks' house which involved good company, far too much very good food, and plenty of football. Then there were leftovers and more football on the succeeding days. Poppy and I also got in some good gaming (of the video kind, and the more traditional kind, with boards and cards), and took care of a lot of things around the house. I did manly things like drill holes and build bookcases and such. I also got in a lot of reading, some blogging, and even a bit of relaxing.
And my wife did me the honor of trying out a recipe of my choosing in her baking cookbook, which essentially consisted of brownies with a layer of chocolate chip cookie on top. I told her I'm not sure why there's other food, because this is obviously the pinnacle. |
