Inked
 by Fëanor

It's done! I have become one of the tattooed masses. A picture of the finished project is below, taken by my lovely wife. Please try to ignore the numerous imperfections in my skin and concentrate on the design...

More on what the tattoo means to me, and why I selected it, can be found here and here. As for how the experience went... well, it felt like someone was taking a fiery knife and scraping it across my nerve endings. As my tattoo artist, Cindy, was doing the outlining I thought, okay, this hurts a lot, but apparently this is the level of pain I can expect. And then she started filling it in, and the pain got even worse. But hey, it didn't last forever, and now I have an incredibly nerdy, incredibly kick-ass tattoo that will last forever, so it's all good.

Poppy and EverMike were good enough to come down and hang out with me during the procedure, and afterwards EverMike had the excellent idea to take a walk down the street to the appropriately named Tattooed Mom's and get some drinks and some eats, so we did that, with Super Tarzan joining us. And at that point the comic book store was only like a block away, so obviously EverMike and I had to stop there, and I had to spend a ton of money on a bunch of trade paperback collections, as well as some more bags and boards for storage.

So all in all, a good day's work, and Star got me to try something new again, like she does. I am pleased.
