The Setup
 by Fëanor

I'm trying to come up with good titles for my semi-weekly posts - the one where I run down which comics I want to buy, and then the one afterward where I talk about what I picked up. "Comics Wish List" seems lame, and "Flying Fists of Fury" is not very descriptive. So I was thinking of changing it to "The Setup" and "The Take." But I don't know.

Anyway, the point is, below is what I'm looking to pick up this week. And yes, the list is considerably longer than last week's. I thought I was getting this habit under control, but maybe not...

Back Issues and Old Data
Immortal Iron Fist #3

Eternals #4

Ex Machina Volumes 3-5
After being quite pleased with volumes 1 & 2, I looked up this series and discovered there were in fact quite a few more TPBs (that's Trade Paperbacks to you) in existence, so I figure I might as well catch up and then maybe start collecting issues of this one. That is, assuming it doesn't go downhill. And assuming he doesn't start talking about invisible men in shacks...

DC: The New Frontier Volume 2
If you read my review of Volume 1, it should come as no surprise that I want to pick up the concluding volume. This thing is fantastic.

New Releases
Nova #3
At long last, the next issue in this series about the super warrior who's the last of his kind, and who has a gigantic computer mind sharing his head. This should be the issue where he takes sides in the whole registration thing.

Punisher War Journal
Holy crap do I love this book. I cannot wait to see what Frank does to the Hatemonger. "We need to steal a car. I have to go down to Mexico and shoot that guy in the face." Ah, Frank. How I love you.

Gotham Central Vol. 5: Dead Robin
I had not heard about it before, but there's apparently a series that follows members of the Gotham City Police Department as they try to avoid being killed by the Joker or upstaged by the Batman. This particular collection is written by Ed Brubaker, who I'm a fan of, and is about the GPD trying to investigate the death of Robin. Sounds amazing!

Green Arrow #75
I just finished reading Kevin Smith's Green Arrow: Quiver, the ten issue arc where he brought Ollie back from the dead and made all kinds of obscure references to all kinds of characters and events in the DCU. It's a pretty good book. Interesting, though slightly ridiculous, story. Dialogue that's sometimes corny and clumsy, but often clever and fun. You know, Kevin Smith. So I'm curious to see what's going on with Green Arrow these days. And as it happens, this issue claims to be the last issue, and an extra large one at that, in which Ollie finally proposes to Black Canary. So, yeah, I'm falling for the hype. We'll see what happens...

Avengers Classic #1
Another over-sized issue, apparently reprinting the original first issue of The Avengers, and also including a couple of new, original stories. Can't resist that!

World War Hulk #1
It's finally here! The Incredible Hulk has arrived to declare war on Earth! To have his vengeance on those who betrayed him! To SMASH!! Can you tell I'm a little excited?

Hulk: Planet Hulk
Those devious bastards, releasing a hardcover book collecting the previous big Hulk storyline right as they're launching into the new one! I don't really want to lay out the $40 to get this, but at the same time... it would be really good to know what went on while Hulk was on that other planet, before I start reading WWH. Damn it! I'm torn!
