Exit
 by Fëanor

As of today, I finally officially no longer have an address in Philadelphia. My lease ended today, and thanks mainly to my own laziness it wasn't until this afternoon that I finally got all of my stuff out of there. But the dreaded couch that was such a pain getting in there was removed with a minimum of difficulty by the guys from the Uhuru furniture store (although I did have to describe the method we used for putting it into the elevator the first time, and discourage them from trying the stairs). The rather atrocious--though undeniably useful--lamps which Peccable was kind enough to give me when I moved in were also finally taken away by these men.

And I have to say, I wasn't the least bit sad to finally get out of the place. Actually, after I handed in my keys, I felt better than I've felt for days. I mean, positively energized. Of course, that could also have had something to do with the Coke I had for lunch...

I'm not saying I hated my place in Philly. It was the first place that was really my own, and I liked it while I was there. But it was never really a home. It was just a place to sleep and to keep my stuff.

In other news, I made a couple tiny improvements to the blog (dates will now display the day of the week, and you can leave the "http://" off of your url when you enter it into the comments form), and made further strides toward implementing rss.

While researching the day of the week problem, I found this handy page. Check out the comments at the bottom.
