Ah ha!
 by Fëanor

For a number of years now, I've been haunted by the memory of this TV show about a family that walks into a mystic portal to another world when touring the Great Pyramid in Egypt. I had this really vivid impression of them being trapped in the dark in the pyramid and realizing that they are completely lost in some new and strange dimension. I guess that feeling of being lost in the dark really struck a chord with me as a kid.

I've mentioned this show to people, trying to figure out if someone else remembered it or what it was called, but no one did. I'd started to think maybe it wasn't its own show at all, but just an episode of some fantasy/sci fi anthology series like "The Twilight Zone" or "Amazing Stories." I'd also considered the idea that I'd just dreamed the show. But now, thanks to dje2004 and his recent post linking to a site called GoldMonkey.com that sells old/rare TV shows on DVD, I have finally found "Otherworld."

I don't think I'm curious enough to actually buy it or anything. But it's good to finally know what that show was called, and that it definitely actually existed.
