Names and Games
 by Fëanor

In case you haven't seen them before, the Hobbit Name Generator and Elf Name Generator. I came across the Hobbit Name Generator a long time ago, but I hadn't seen the Elf one before.

My Hobbit name is Sancho Bramble of Willowbottom, and my Elf name is Finwë Palantír. Of course, my real Elf name is Fëanor, but I like this one, too. I rather like Sancho Bramble of Willowbottom, too. Has a nice ring to it.

Today was a nice day. I hung out with poppy for a bit, got some work done on my applet, and then went over to my parents' house and watched the Eagles beat the snot out of the Giants. Woo hoo!

I'm not sure where my rather sudden enjoyment of football came from. For many years, to my father's dismay, I had no interest in it whatsoever. Then recently, it just suddenly clicked for me, and I found it very dramatic and interesting. There's a lot of strategy and violence to it, as well as acrobatics and athleticism. It's a pretty amazing sport. You can appreciate the mental aspect of planning out these complex attack patterns, and then switching them up on the fly; but you can also appreciate the amazing physical prowess of these men as they twist and run and leap--and hit each other really, really hard.
