Please Don't Vote
 by Fëanor

I find the "Vote or Die" campaign rather odd. I also find people odd who insist that everyone vote, no matter what, and get mad when people don't. Personally, I don't think everyone should vote.

If you're completely uninformed as to who the candidates are or what they're likely to do once they get into office, please don't vote.

If you're voting for/against a candidate entirely because he/she's of a particular race/religion/sexual orientation/gender that you like/don't like, please don't vote.

If you're voting based on the looks of the candidates, or a nebulous "feeling" that you have about the candidates, please don't vote.

If you plan to just pick someone randomly when you get in the voting booth, please don't vote.

If you're voting for Sarah Palin for no other reason than spite over Hillary Clinton not getting the nomination, please don't vote.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say, if you're voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin, please don't vote.

This is the ticket endorsed by George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, for God's sake. They're wrong on all the issues that matter. Let's turn things around. I'm tired of people using the word "liberal" as an insult. Let's make "conservative" an insult.

If you're voting for Barack Obama, please vote.
