He Has Eaten the Pancake
 by Fëanor

This past weekend, a couple of cool things happened. First, my parents, who were good enough to get us a new sliding glass door for our birthdays, came over and installed it, with some limited help from us. It's quite lovely and much better than our old one. Of course, last night our dumbass dog crashed right into the screen door, knocked it out of the track, and tore some of the screening. But it's not too badly damaged (and dumbass is totally fine), so no biggie.

The other cool thing that happened is that poppy demanded pancakes for breakfast one morning, but when I went to the cupboard, I found we were out of mix. I didn't really feel like going to get more, so I figured, why not just make them from scratch? It can't be that hard. And indeed, it wasn't. I used this recipe, and the pancakes that resulted were mighty tasty. It helped that poppy had the excellent idea to add chocolate chips to some of the pancakes. Those were particularly good.

In other, unrelated news, how about them Phillies? I actually don't really like baseball all that much, but seeing the local team edge closer and closer to the big championship, and seeing the whole town kind of pull together behind them, is pretty exciting. And hey, the Eagles even managed to win this weekend, while Dallas lost. Not bad.
