My recent metal album acquisitions have not disappointed. These include:
Reinventing Hell - Pantera
Powerslave - Iron Maiden
Ruun - Enslaved
Haven't listened to all of them all the way through yet, but everything I've heard so far has been fantastic. Take Iron Maiden's 13-and-a-half-minute-long epic "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner," for example. I like the original poem as much as the next English major, but Iron Maiden's version has a bit more... pathos, shall we say? Also gotta love their Prisoner homage, "Back in the Village." |
