Anybody else watch the first episode of the Sci Fi Channel miniseries reimagining of Wizard of Oz that was on last night? I've been looking forward to Tin Man for a while. When I saw actual footage from it recently in a behind-the-scenes clip on Sci Fi, it looked pretty dumb, but I watched it anyway and it turned out to be quite good. A little corny, but lots of neat ideas, and all-in-all I think it's a clever and engaging transformation of the old story. What they did to the Tin Man - locked in a metal suit watching his family be tortured over and over again for years - was particularly fascinating. I definitely plan to check out the future episodes. |
