Non-GHII-related items
 by Fëanor

The other night poppy got the itch to see a monster movie, so we cracked open my Universal Frankenstein box set and watched the original Frankenstein. She had never seen the film, and I hadn't seen it in quite a while, so it was an interesting experience. I kept seeing scenes, being reminded of their corrollaries in Young Frankenstein, and laughing. But really overall we both agreed the movie just really isn't very good. It was kind of disappointing, actually. The acting is pretty much universally terrible, the characters and story are laughably dumb. At times I sensed that James Whale was being deliberately silly, but I don't think he let enough of the other people working on the movie in on the joke. Ah, well.

The pod is indeed reloaded with TV. I just finished the latest "Lost" - the last episode for a while. It was pretty good. A guest appearance by Mal from "Firefly," some more backstory on Kate, and a dramatic cliffhanger finish. It kind of ticks me off that they all keep escaping and then not leaving, though. I think it's time to just wipe out the Others. Seriously, Jack could have just taken a bunch of those guns and started wasting everybody. Eventually he would have found Kate and Sawyer, so he could arm them, too, and the three of them could probably finish off most of the Others, if not all of them. I'm tired of the damn Others. They act all mysterious and powerful and all-knowing, but they're just a bunch of losers hanging around.

Anyway, next up is "Battlestar," then the final disc of "Doctor Who," season one.

This weekend is Wii launch. It's Wiikend!!! Woo hoo!!! I'm thinking I'm going to go over to Target early Sunday morning and demand they give me a Wii. If they don't have one, I will cry. Then I'll go to Walmart or something.
