• Above is the first trailer for Clint Eastwood's supernatural thriller, Hereafter. Looks intense - and possibly rather cheesy. With the subject matter, it's going to be hard to avoid melodrama and cliches, so I'm not sure if I want to see this one or not. (Via)


• HBO has started a blog covering the making of the new Game of Thrones series. They've already posted a character photo, a behind-the-scenes video, and a new video preview with a raven theme. Very exciting stuff! You can also follow them on Twitter, natch.


• Mr. Dan Hipp made you a web comic for his birthday about a piglet who solves mysteries.


• A tiny bit more Tron Legacy footage, plus a lovely new banner image featuring Olivia Wilde. Related: an ASCII image hidden in the source code for the Tron Legacy soundtrack site.


• J.J. Abrams and Christopher Nolan's brother Jonathan Nolan (who co-wrote The Dark Knight and The Prestige) are working together on a TV crime thriller.


• Pretty amusing meme mashup. To put it another way, "Yo dawg, they put a meme inside your meme, so you can meme while you meme!"


• Heh.


• I'm intrigued by this Philadelphia film and music festival that's coming up in about a week called Philly F/M, but it doesn't look like they have many interesting movies. Plus, the website is a bit disappointing. I'd really like to see the schedule laid out in calendar format, or some other kind of more easily digestible list of who and what is playing. (Via)


• That new Genndy Tartakovsky show about giant alien robots fighting each other is airing this Friday at 8PM on the Cartoon Network.

• Bob Hoskins and Willem Dafoe may star in an alien invasion movie called Transmission.


• M. Night Shyamalan's concept for Unbreakable 2 will become one of the "Night Chronicles" movies. This could be good news: a sequel to one of Shyamalan's only two good movies, which will be written and directed by someone other than him!


• A photo of a bullet slicing through a water drop. Impressive.


• Blastr lists some exciting upcoming superhero films. I didn't know they were even still making Ant-Man, and I'd forgotten that Edgar "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" Wright was directing. I'd see that! Actually, to be honest, I want to see every movie on this list, except the ones involving Mark Millar.

• Rarely do I find myself siding with the studio over the director, but I'd much rather see James McAvoy starring in At the Mountains of Madness than the insane and despicable Tom Cruise.
