No, not necessarily. Ron Moore was only the show-runner for Caprica for the first few episodes, and handed over day-to-day control to Jane Espenson (who herself dropped out of the position in order to write more, so they brought in another guy whose name escapes me). I think when Caprica was in development, RDM was still hoping to get Virtuality off the ground, so he never intended to be in charge in a really hands-on fashion. |

| I should add that apparently Syfy is going to make a decision about Caprica season two by November or so this year. |

| Hmm. Well, I will try to remain optimistic, but it seems weird that there's been no announcement yet about another season, one way or the other. |

| Ah, I posted before I saw your second comment. November seems a little late, but okay! |

| Yeah. The weird thing is that they extended the cast contracts to November (which effectively postpones the decision re: a second season until then), but the second half of the season won't air until next January. So it's not really clear what they're waiting for, since by the time their own self-imposed deadline arrives they won't have any new ratings information to base their decision off of.
Now, I'm not super-optimistic about a second season (and to be honest, I felt like the show fell off after episode five or so), but certainly SyFy clearly _wants_ to pick up the series but hasn't decided whether or not it's a good idea. |

| Huh. Strange. Yeah, I thought the show was uneven, but smart and different, with the potential to be great. |
