• Hey, so this is cool. It doesn't really seem to signal any major change in policy, and it is coming a bit late, but still: the President said he thinks gay marriage should be legal. It's a step. A nice, big, symbolic step.


• That comedy special that Louis C.K. sold on the internet for five bucks, thus altering the universe, is airing this weekend on FX - in an edited form, of course.


• Kind of an unfortunate time to have a lawsuit going against the Beastie Boys. Apparently the boys will be okay if they have to settle, though, seeing as how their records are selling like hotcakes.


• Speaking of the Beastie Boys, here's a cool mashup of them and the Beatles; it's called the Beastles.


• Argo looks/sounds like a pretty amazing movie. Here's the trailer. It's based on a true story about a CIA plot to sneak some Americans out of Iran disguised as the film crew for a movie that didn't exist. They even brought in Jack Kirby to do some concept art.


• Ron Howard, at least, still thinks there's a future for his Dark Tower movie.


• That's some bad-ass stuff right there.


• Apparently a German art student has hand-illuminated and bound a copy of The Silmarillion. Looks amazing.


• Here's the cover of Warren Ellis' next book, Gun Machine. Looking forward to it.

• The latest post from the making-of blog for HBO's Game of Thrones is a talk with the fight coordinator featuring a lot of behind-the-scenes video of the fight scenes. Nice!


• You've got to love an article entitled "Scientists engineer flu-stopping superchicken."


• The Nimbus 2000, reengineered as a bicycle.


• Supposedly a sequel to Tron Legacy is about to be greenlit. Woo hoo!


• The A.V. Club's idea for a Pac-Man reality series sounds way more interesting than the one that's actually being developed - which is apparently a game show of some sort.


• I feel like this Reelizer site, with the custom-made movie posters, was down for a while? Or maybe the RSS feed just didn't work very well? Anyway, they're posting again, and it's pretty impressive stuff.


• IBM is pitting its supercomputer Watson against the two most successful Jeopardy contestants yet in a special episode of the quiz show which will air February 14th. We don't know what happened in the real match yet, but we do know that the computer won the practice round.

• poppy sent me a birthday present this morning: The Digital Comic Museum. It's a huge repository of free public domain Golden Age Comics. I'm going to have to wade in later and see what they've got, but it looks like tons and tons of stuff.


• Via Jill, the 7 worst pizzas in America. I knew there would be something on here that I eat or would like to eat, and indeed there is: the Pizza Hut Stuffed Crust Meat Lover's Pizza. Luckily there aren't any Pizza Huts near me anymore, so it would be very hard for me to get this.


• Somebody mashed up the Tron Legacy trailer with audio from The Big Lebowski. The result is pretty wonderful.


• Comic Twart's latest selection is Popeye! Here's a great zombie entry.


• New photos from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! I particularly like the one of the multiple Harrys.
