People seem to be jumping on the Deathless bandwagon, which is a good thing I suppose. You can find an awesome illustrated version of one of the preview chapters here: http://www.tor.com/stories/2011/01/deathless-comic?limitstart=0

Fun fact: I'm good friends with Cat Valente, the author of the book, and was a groomsman at her wedding. I'm also friends with the awesome Amy Houser, who is the artist on the illustrated version. Actually, Neil and SuperTarzan know her too — we all gamed together.

I remember being vaguely depressed and puzzled by the original, but come to think of it, that's how le Carre usually makes me feel, so I guess it was a good adaptation. It's pretty hard to one-up Alec Guinness, but I would be curious to see how Oldman handles the role.

Not that Oldman will do a bad job, but why the hell would you remake something as perfect as original adaptation? I mean, Alec Guinness was perfect, and so was the rest of the cast. Nobody can do Connie as well as Beryl Reid did, and even Patrick Stewart's glorified cameo as Karla was spot-on.
