That Mark Millar comic sounds really interesting. I think superhero stories would make more sense, dramatically, if the heroes were the smart ones and the bad guys were the ones with the powers and the gadgets. A Superman alternate-universe story where Lex Luthor was the hero and Superman the bad guy would be really cool.

It was actually two very silly issues combined, having to do with my recent changes to disallow most html tags. One was that the code was replacing carriage returns with line break tags, but then rejecting line break tags, so any multi-line comment was rejected. The other was that, due to the wrongheaded way I was checking strings for tags, if you entered no email address and no website url when commenting, your comment was automatically rejected.

Yep! In multiple continuities, but the most recent incarnation was the Earth-3 version, leader of the Crime Society of America by... Grant Morrison, I think? Superman was called Ultraman, an astronaut who got infected with some solar-powered alien virus. His wife was evil Lois Lane as Super Woman. Owlman was Thomas Wayne Jr., who lost his parents and older brother Bruce in a tragic accident. Green Lantern was Power Ring, whose ring was a sentient schizophrenic bastard. Flash was called... Johnny Quick, but his schtick was that he had to shoot up with super-amphetamines to get access to the speed force.

It was great. Ultraman would randomly annihilate people from his satellite with his heat vision. Owlman and Super Woman were conducting an affair behind Ultraman's back that he knew about but couldn't prove. I highly recommend picking up the various trades.

The "heroes" of the world included Alexander Luthor, The Jokester and Three Face.
