At the end, the children are asked to make a choice that will make it so that Ponyo is no longer magical, but entirely human. What bugged me is that it was not a difficult choice at all. They're all like, "OK!" It should have been a bigger deal than that!]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[I know what you mean, but I was okay with that. I think the point was that Sosuke's choice was a foregone conclusion, and it was always going to be simple for him, because that's just the way he felt, and really we already knew that from everything that had come before. His actions up to that point had already made the choice, so the actual making of the choice was just a formality.<br/><br/>But yeah, one does get the feeling sometimes that Miyazaki isn't very interested in endings. The ending of <em>Howl's Moving Castle</em> is so abrupt it's ridiculous. All the conflicts are suddenly resolved and the credits pop up almost before the last scene is over.]]></description>
